Nowadays,
there are lots of disciplinary issues happened in schools such as bully,
gangsterisms, rudeness of students towards teachers and many more. This issue
increases from year to year and it affects students’ achievements in school in
terms of academic, co-curriculum, and also their attitudes. In order to solve
this issue, there are some ways that can be taken by all parties.
1.
Give right
punishment to the mistakes they did
Whenever a student commits mistakes
and still continues doing it, he/she has to be punished in order to avoid
him/her from making the same mistakes. If no one admonished them, they will
always think everything that they did were right. Do not give hard punishment
that can let them keep grudge to the adults because if they do, their
discipline might get worst. They might lose respect to people and will become
wild. If punishment was given, ensure that it has to come along with advice.
The students have to know the reason why they were being punished and why the
things they commit were not good to themselves or others.
2.
Ensure
students to get involve with school activities
School should be a fun place because
it will be students’ second house after their own home. Each student should get
involve at least one activity in school co-curriculum. There are lots of clubs
in school and all students should be encouraged to join them. These clubs, at
least can train students to be more discipline and more responsible with their
task. Fun activities can avoid students from getting involved with any negative
environment or activities. Moreover, their leadership potential can be polished
and this will drive them to become a successful person in future.
3.
Parents’ role
Parents are the closest individuals
to their children. Each of every children activity should be monitor so that
they will always on the right track. If a child committed mistakes in school,
parents should not ignore their child wrongdoing. This is because if every
mistake is being ignored, even a small issue can be big and might be worst if
parents did not play their role towards their children. When a child lost
respect to their parents, and did not want to listen to anyone, anything worst
can happen. This will lead him/her to have bad attitude. This is why parents’
role is very important in order to shape children attitudes at home, school and
everywhere. When parents play their role, and not too spoil their children, the
disciplinary issue at home or in school will be decrease. On top of that,
parents should give enough love to their children. Lack of love and attention
from parents will make children feel they are being abandoned at home and try
to get attention by do some bad disciplinary action at school.
4.
Teachers’
role
If at home, parents will monitor
their children, then at school, teachers will monitor their students’
activities. Moreover, at school there are discipline teachers that will look
out every student’s action. For example, when students come late to school,
there will be some punishment given such as pick up trash, standing in front of
other students during assembly and many more as a lesson so that the students
will come early next time. Along with the punishment, there should be advice from
the teachers to encourage students to improve their disciplinary action that
will lead the students to become a responsible person with good leadership
attitude in future.
As
a conclusion, parents and teachers are the most important individuals that involved
in giving good lessons to the children and students. Good discipline can be
implemented if all parties play their role well. These children or students
need someone to teach and guide them to become a better person. If no one try
to admonished them, they will take environment to become their ‘teacher’ and as
a guide for them to live their life. If they mix with good environment then it
is good. However, if they mix with bad and negative environment, then that will
lead them to have bad discipline or attitude not only at home or school, but
anywhere they go. Play a good role towards the children or students before it’s
too late to do anything.
